Job Summary

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all tax-related activities for clients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The role involves planning and executing tax strategies, managing tax audits, preparing tax returns, and supervising junior staff. The Tax Manager also provides clients with valuable advice on tax-efficient strategies and works closely with partners to ensure the firm’s tax services are delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service & Relationship Management

> Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding tax matters.
> Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.
> Provide expert advice on tax planning, tax-saving strategies, and compliance.
> Review clients’ financial statements and business operations to identify potential tax issues and solutions.

Tax Planning & Strategy

> Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients, taking into consideration their financial goals.
> Advise clients on tax-efficient investment strategies, mergers, acquisitions, and business restructuring.
> Review and optimize clients' tax filings to minimize liabilities while ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws.

Tax Return Preparation & Review

> Oversee the preparation and review of individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns.
> Ensure that tax returns are filed accurately and timely, adhering to applicable tax laws and deadlines.
> Coordinate the gathering of necessary documentation from clients for tax filings.

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

> Stay updated on changes in federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
> Ensure clients comply with tax laws and regulations and advise on any required changes.
> Manage audits, respond to IRS inquiries, and resolve tax disputes.

Team Management & Development

> Supervise, mentor, and develop junior tax staff and associates.
> Provide on-the-job training and development opportunities for staff.
> Assign tasks, review work, and ensure deadlines are met.

Internal Collaboration

> Work closely with other departments, including audit and consulting, to provide integrated services to clients.
> Assist in the preparation of internal reports and presentations for firm leadership.

Business Development & Practice Growth

> Assist in marketing and business development initiatives to attract new clients.
> Identify opportunities for expanding services to existing clients.
> Participate in networking and industry events to represent the firm and stay abreast of industry trends.

Job Details

We are seeking a Tax Manager to oversee compliance, manage filings, audits, and advise clients on tax-efficient strategies.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation or similar is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public accounting or tax advisory.

  • Experience in supervising or managing a team is preferred.
  • Knowledge of tax software and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

  • Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and client management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation required. Additional certifications (e.g., Enrolled Agent, Chartered Accountant) are a plus.

  • Standard office hours with occasional extended hours during peak payroll periods or for client-specific needs.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines.

  • Visa Sponsorship will be offered subject to the availability.
  • Salary range: £31,500 – £39,500 per annum. (Above Ongoing Rate)

Full-time Hours: 40 hours Per Week (flexible shifts, with overtime allowed as required)
